French and Italian fans alike, flocked to the Irish Bank to watch the World Cup final. Due to demand, we set up screens in the bar and dining room and also outside. Regardless of the outcome, the French contingent stayed on to party it up in our sunny alley.
Being located in the French Quarter of San Francisco, Bastille Day came to our door a couple of years ago. As it grew in popularity we found the need to gather the necessary permits so it could legally become our annual block party. Starting at 4pm with Frenchy Le Freak as DJ, the crowd soon gathered and by 6pm the party was on, with dancing and drinking aplenty!! DJ Pat took the stage at 8pm and rocked the house until midnight.
Although a mellow beginning to the evening, by 11pm the bar was lively, everyone had their party favors ready and the New Year was brought in with typical Irish Bank gusto!
St. Patrick's Day 2006 began at 6am with a live broadcast of Alice Radio 97.3 with Sarah and Noname. The activities included a pipe band, traditional Irish music, Irish dancers and of course, a drinking contest! It progressed later in the day to a huge block party with live bands and DJs.
